Safely Store Your Tires
A few recommendations
For proper storage, agricultural tires must be kept in a clean, dry and ventilated room, away from direct sunlight.
They must be far away from:
- An ozone source (electric motor, transformer, arc welding station, etc.),
- Away from any chemical substances, solvents or hydrocarbons likely to alter the rubber,
- Any object that may pierce the rubber (sharp or pointed metal objects),
- A flame or flammable substance.
During storage periods, store agricultural tires and inner tubes avoiding tension or weight damage. If they are stacked, keep them mounted and inflated. To help relieve pressure for vehicle-mounted wheels, rotate a half turn, or if moving is not possible over-inflate the normal pressure by 10 psi.
Important Reminders
- Never store bare tires or complete wheels removed from the vehicle directly in contact with the ground for a long period of time. The use of protective gloves is recommended for their handling.
- Always remove the tire from the rim first before any intervention.
- Always use the Michelin inflation table to correctly define the pressure of your agricultural tire. Under-inflation causes excessive deformation of the carcass and leads to the premature decommissioning of the tire.
- Over-inflation reduces the surface area in contact with the ground, leads to a loss of grip and makes the casing more sensitive to shocks and cuts.
- If the loads are lower than those indicated in our load-pressure tables, never go below the minimum pressure indicated in the data charts for the tire.
